Animal Systems

Although the main application of the HemoShear technology is in recreating human biology, the technology is equally versatile and relevant for recreation of animal systems. The use of these animal systems is complementary to current in vivo efforts as the HemoShear technology has demonstrated the ability to translate discoveries and inform in vivo physiology and pathology. HemoShear's animal cell-based surrogate systems are used to understand: the mechanism of action (MoA) of a target, the efficacy and vascular pharmacology of drug treatment, and for comparative biological response between animal and human. This approach also informs preclinical evaluation of compounds through a better understanding of how the target and signaling pathway of interest are regulated and thus, evaluate efficacy of treatment. Currently, HemoShear is developing proprietary animal systems for several pharmaceutical clients.
